Tomnița Florescu

Architect, PhD, full professor at the Faculty of Interior Architecture at “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest. She graduated from “Ion Mincu” Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning in 1972 and received the doctoral degree in Architecture in 1993 with the thesis “The Setting-up and Transfer Mode of a Scientific Support in the Field of Architecture – THE CASE OF SOLAR ENERGY” – published book – Bioclimatic Architecture – The Case of Solar Energy.

In more than 50 years of activity, she was involved in architecture education - she has been teaching at “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest since 1977 and served as the dean of the College of Architecture, head of the department, and professor in the diploma commissions; architecture design, consolidation, restoration, and the redevelopment of heritage buildings designed by famous architects; interior design for public buildings, such as the Government of Romania, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Romanian Intelligence Service, the National Bank of Romania; special advisor for the Ministry of Education, the Government of Romania, the National Bank of Romania; furniture design, book and advertising design, desktop publishing. She is recipient of the Knight of the National Order of Merit.
