Horia Moldovan

Born in Sibiu in 1978, graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at „Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest, with a master’s degree in historical monuments conservation (2003-2005) and a doctoral degree in 2008. He is a practicing architect and a faculty member at the Department of History & Theory of Architecture and Heritage Conservation at UAUIM.

Between 2016 and 2020, he was the vice-rector of „Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Planning in Bucharest on issues of research, development, innovation and professional practice.

He is the dean of the Faculty of Architecture in Bucharest.

Awards and distinctions:

2017 – „Matei Brâncoveanu” Award for Architecture offered by Alexandrion Foundation

2014 – Architecture Publications Award – Ex Aequo, National Biennial of Architecture XI, Bucharest, for the publication Johann Schlatter: Western Culture and Romanian Architecture (1831-1866)

2013 – Award of the Annual of Architecture XI, Bucharest, 2013, architecture book section, for the publication Johann Schlatter: Western Culture and Romanian Architecture (1831-1866)

Participant and contributor at various national and international conferences. Author of architecture and restoration exhibitions.
